From their early beginnings as missionary societies, through mergers and name changes to the present, the Methodist Women of First Methodist Church of Clinton have been a vibrant and active group with a rich history of service to our church, community, and the world. We currently have two groups–the Ida Johnson Circle (daytime–this group is composed of members from Bernice Ballance and Ida Johnson Circles, which merged in the autumn of 2023), and the Eleanor Powell Circle (evening). These Circles meet monthly (except for the summer months) and are a time for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Methodist Women support a wide variety of missions, with service to children and women as their primary focus. Some of our activities include helping to decorate the church for Christmas; serving meals for Lenten Lunches, Vacation Bible School, bereavement meals, and other occasions; helping with Backpack Buddies and other local ministries; holding our annual November Casserole/Bake Sale fundraiser, as well as serving in various leadership roles within the church and community.
Be sure to look at the church calendar to see when the different groups will meet!
Throughout the year we have a Monday Night Women's study that you can join. They begin at 5:30pm and meet in the church library. For more information on the next study contact the church office.
