Joel Wise
Associate Pastor
Student Ministry 6th-12th grade
Joel is over the theological and Biblical growth studies for FMC youth. He organizes activities and curriculum to engage the youth in ministry, knowledge, and life. He has a bachelors of religion from Methodist University and over 10 years of youth ministry experience and is seeking to become an ordained deacon in the Global Methodist Church.
Marquita Someliana-Lauer
Organist/Pianist
Marquita currently serves as the organist, accompanist, and contemporary music leader at Clinton First Methodist Church. She has a Bachelor of Music degree in Commercial and Electronic Music from Western Carolina University and a Master of Arts degree in Worship and Music with a concentration in commercial music performance from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Throughout her college career, she focused on piano performance (classical and popular styles), as well as all aspects of music technology, music industry, and commercial styles of composition and arranging. Additionally, she has studied the Biblical, historical, and contemporary uses of music in Christian worship as well as music composition and arranging for the church. She is very passionate about using the arts and music in worship to glorify our wonderful God, as well as to minister to, involve, and lead the congregation in worship. In addition to church work and teaching private piano lessons, she also stays very busy assisting her husband and fellow musician, Cameron, with his middle school bands and choirs, performing whenever possible, and caring for their two lively daughters and baby son.
Cameron Someliana-Lauer
Assitant Music Director
Cameron Someliana-Lauer is currently serving as the Assistant Choir Director at Clinton First Methodist Church and a music teacher at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School. He has a Bachelor of Music in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, and a Master of Arts in Ensemble Pedagogy with a concentration in conducting from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Cameron is convinced that a music teacher should also be a performer, so he seeks out opportunities to share his love for music with audiences anywhere he can. He has performed as part of many groups including the Asheville Lyric Opera, Opera on the James in Lynchburg, The Master’s Choral in Raleigh, and the Sampson Community Theatre. At Clinton FMC Cameron helps the church organist, his lovely wife Marquita, lead in the worship of our Triune God. He is the father to three wonderful children, two fabulous girls and a bouncing baby boy. He also served in the United States Air Force.
